There are 13 units to choose from within at the Diploma in Management and Leadership level delivered through high quality distance e-learning units and accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. Each unit has a number of credits attached to it. The units are as follows:

Course Content - Qualification Structure and Duration

By studying a combination of the units listed you can achieve an Award, Certificate or the Diploma in Management and Leadership.

Award in Management and Leadership

This is a concise qualification, designed for managers who wish to update their existing management skills and knowledge quickly whilst receiving a recognised qualification in management. In order to achieve the Award at this level you must successfully complete at least one unit to a minimum of 6 credits.

The Award will take 4-6 weeks to complete.

Certificate Management and Leadership

This is a more involved qualification, designed for managers wishing to build on and develop their existing management skills and knowledge whilst receiving a recognised qualification in management. In order to achieve the Certificate at this level you must successfully complete any combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits.

The certificate will take 3-4 months to complete.

Diploma in Management and Leadership

This is a much more in depth version of the qualification, designed for those who wish to update, improve and enhance their existing skills and knowledge in management. The Diploma is seen as the most prestigious of the recognised qualifications in management we offer. In order to achieve the Diploma at this level you must successfully complete all core units (Group A) and four optional units (one unit from Group B and three from Group C) to a total of at least 62 credits.

The Diploma will take around 12 months to complete.

Course Assessment

Assessment is through practical work-based assignments, which ensures minimum time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation's context. We have a team of experienced, dedicated eTutors to help you successfully complete all the assessments.

Following registration, you will be allocated a UK-based tutor, who will be available by telephone, fax, and email to discuss your coursework and give advice and guidance on assignments.

Entry Criteria and Enrolment

Participants will normally be either practising or aspiring middle managers. Whilst there are no formal educational requirements, learners should have a background that will enable them to benefit from the Programme. We are happy to provide you with guidance on the most appropriate level for you.

You will need an appropriate level of literacy and numeracy to enable you to meet the requirements of independent study at this level.

The package you receive will include everything you need to study and successfully complete the course to gain the qualification.
